Mini-Hesed “Goor-Arieh” in Drohobych
Minutes hurry to become years, hours compose days which turn into weeks, the weeks line up the squadrons of months which are marching to the camps of years.  In the course of time along with big and small problems, achievements and joys our little “lion” – Hesed “Goor-Arieh” in Drohobych lives by now for 6 years . In translation from Hebrew it means “lion’ s whelp “.

All programs of “a big lion” (“Hesed-Arieh”) successfully function in Drohobych : food programs,  rehabilitation equipment loan, home care,  medical programs, prosthetics, etc.

Cultural life is the field of action of Club which arranges regular Kabbalat Shabbats, literary and musical parties, rehearsals of vocal and dancing amateur groups.  The video salon shows documentaries and feature films on Jewish tradition and culture. The volunteers actively participate in everyday  job including laundry, hairdresser’s, Shabbats and librarian work. The volunteers- musicians are active participants of every concert or musical party. In Hesed also function children’s programs and “Family Club”.

“Goor-Arieh” is doing a big job in its neighboring towns of Stryy, Truskavets, Boryslav and Sambir.  Social and communal programs provide people with medical consultations and delivery of medicines, hot meals and food packages, rehabilitation equipment, books, newspapers and magazines.  Hesed assists its regional customers with the repair of household devices, furniture and sanitary engineering, organizing holidays and Shabbats in the local communities. 

“Hesed-Leyb” in Ivano-Frankivsk
Hesed of Ivano-Frankivsk joined us in 2007.  Now “Hesed-Arieh” unites Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.  “Hesed-Leyb” is a center of Jewish culture revival for 1500 customers in 42 settlements.

“Hesed-Leyb’s“ staff sets as its purpose  “to hurry up to do goods on the way of mercy”.
